Introduction
Rhythm is a crucial aspect of music. It is what motivates music, ensures it is going on well and keeps the musician playing. Lack of rhythm depicts that there will be no music. As such, the project will focus on the theory of rhythm in music. The concept of rhythm is quite interesting since it can be cultured and developed. Majority of the necessary forms of music lack a tune but have a rhythm. An instance of a conventional rhythm instrument is the drum. One can keep a beat on a drum, but rhythm can be maintained in several other ways.
Music theory is critical to creating and playing music effectively. It has been pointed out that rhythm is one of the fundamental elements of music. The project will explore the building blocks of rhythm that entail counting, accounts, measures, rests, cypher, sectors and beat. As such, all this will facilitate a clear comprehension of the significance of rhythm and how it is created. Besides, it will depict the process undertaken to develop rhythm (Schonbrun & Boone, 2017).
The next aspect of the project will involve a description of time signatures. It will thus cover the common, complex and irregular time signatures. Also, it will look at the process of principles entailed in choosing the time signature for a song. In this way, the topic of rhythm will be covered comprehensively and further give one a clear picture of what it necessarily entails, that is, its creation (Hijleh, 2016).
Rhythm further entails other notions such as timing and feeling. It is vital for a musician to be informed of these two concepts when creating music. In this way, they will incorporate other essential aspects such as accents, dynamics, swing, articulations, changes in tempo and either playing ahead of, on or behind the beat. The development of rhythms and double and halftime will further be explored (Toussaint, 2016). All these end up making the rhythm and the music pleasant as well.
Various sources have been used to explore the concept of rhythm. Oral communication in the video is useful as it presents an opportunity to critically explain the theory of rhythm and its relevance to music. In this way, the audience will also appreciate music and comprehend that it takes a lot of effort to create a good one. Moreover, in-depth concepts of the theory of rhythm will be well understood.
Conclusion
The project will assist in attaining specific program and course goals. One of this is the comprehension of rhythm, which is a fundamental concept related to music as previously depicted. For this to be attained, the theory of rhythm in music has been selected as an area of focus. These goals will be achieved by synthesizing information from reliable sources concerning the theory of rhythm. Additionally, there will be an understanding of why people enjoy music and finally come to appreciate it as well. By evaluating the theory of rhythm, it is evident that one will have a reason to describe why people and societies enjoy and value music. The proposal is thus a depiction of music exploration and specifically concerning rhythm which is a crucial element in this field. Also, it presents a vital part of music in general and gives a clear comprehension of the concept.
