Center for Medicare and Medicaid Service is a federal organization found within the Department of Health and Human Services and mandated to provide quality health services within the United States. The career with the CMS provides a substantial opportunity to many individuals possessing an interest in health care services. The population of the United States tremendously depends on the knowledge and skills owned by its medical experts, who offer health services (Yesalis, Politzer & Harry, 2004; Shi & Singh, 2004). Being a nurse at the Centre for Medicare and Medicaid Service has always been a fascinating dream.
Nurses at the CMS play the wide variety of roles and responsibilities, to ensure that a larger proportion of the American population is accessed to quality health services. Primarily, the role of CMS nurses is to provide the hands-on care to patients. Through this, they can collaborate to other health care professionals assigned care for the patients medical needs. Other functions of nurses include the physical assessment, medication administration, creation of the nursing plans, and the provision of the patents in addition to carrying out the discharge planning. As part of the CMS responsibilities, any recognized problem is usually consulted with a nurse manager through the primary care nurse for the guidance and approval of any plan of action. The presence of a team nurse at the CMS is also of a greater opportunity to the organization and the American population as a whole. Team nurse is often a figure of authority within a selected team. They are mandated to carry out the guidance and implementation of the patient care programs are approved by the relevant CMS department.
To become one of the nurses at the CMS, one must possess the appropriate educational qualification, which is usually a degree in nursing sciences or physician assistant courses.
Public Health Advisor at Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
Being a Public Health Advisor at Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has been a fascinating dream in my life (CDC, 2017). Fundamentally, the CDC operates in the United States with a primary aim of protecting the citizens from America from health, safety and security threats (Niles, 2016). To accomplish its mission, CDC conducts a critical science and offer health information that is aimed at protecting the citizen against the variety of health risks. Public Health Advisor in CDC plays a variety of roles and responsibilities; which are further practiced to help achieve the CDCs mission and vision.
As a Public Health Advisor, one performs the functions that include stimulating and leading the development of the state and the federal program operations for the assigned operating public health programs. Through this, the Public Health Advisor operates as a link between the non-federal and the federal public health communities. It ensures that the initiatives that involve redirecting of funds, and the technical assistance moves efficiently (Niles, 2016). Additionally, the holder of this position I mandated at leading the development of the operation plans for the implementation of the activities. He also ensures that submission and review of the needed progress reports (CDC, 2017). Conceivably, the Public Health Advisors play substantial roles in collaborating with various health experts and the community groups with the aim of determining the needs and the availability of the service required to develop objectives. Finally, the PHA performs the implementation of the programs about the development of the facilities, health data systems, and other specialized programs.
Various qualifications are necessary for the individuals willing to become PHAs in the United States. A university degree in a university degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, and chemistry is required.
Microbiologist position at US Food and Drug Administration
Being a microbiologist at the US Food and Drug Administration has ever been a fascinating opportunity of great interest to me. Fundamentally, the FDA is leading organization in the US that is mandated to protect and promote the public health through the management, supervision, and control of the food safety among other products (FDA, 2017). The FDA microbiologists play significant roles that are aimed at improving the status of public health in the United States.
The primary role of FDA microbiologists is to carry out an evaluation of the chemical, microbiological, and manufacturing data received in the New Drug applications. They also conduct a prior clearance of the antibiotic products. Within the laboratory, FDA microbiologists mandated to carry out the variety of research and development of means and techniques through which the pathogens can be separated from foods. Such development can take place in the areas of bacteriology, virology, serology, tissue culture, immunology, and the hematology. Finally, the holders of this position have also involved the study of the biological effects of various agents commonly present in food and may include additives or contaminants.
For one to qualify for this position, a university degree in microbiology, biological sciences, health sciences, chemistry or other related areas. Additionally, the candidate must also possess considerable educational and work experience; something that can become an added advantage.
