In a case of data loss, there are some questions one needs to ask to determine which method to apply in the recovery process. Firstly, one needs to ask what type of drive where deletion occurred. Computer drives exist in two forms which are mechanical hard drives and internal drives. The mechanical hard drives have a magnetic platter and records removed from these types of hard drives can be quickly recovered. After file deleting a file, the drive marks the file as removed, and in case the deleted file is not overwritten it can be retrieved. On the other hand, files removed from internal drives are hard to recover because the data is wiped off completely the drive memory cells.

Secondly, one needs to ask is the type of operating system that the computer uses. Different software recovery tools work differently on each of the operating systems thus it is critical to use the right software on each operating system. The third question that is important to ask is whether there is any overwriting on the disk. It is worth pointing that out writing additional data to a file after its deletion; it 's hard to recover the lost files (Nabity, P., & Landry, 2013).

Moreover, it is important to ask about the time lost after data deletion and other tasks that the recycle bin has engaged in. Adding files to the recycle bin after removal amounts to overwriting, and this makes it difficult to recover the data. Overwriting the recycle bin makes it impossible to get the back files deleted from it.

The first step towards recovering the data is by the application of the Recuva software. Recuva is simple software that helps to recover files have deleted from the recycle bin and it straightforward and free to use. It has a file recovery wizard whereby and an advanced search recovery tool. When using Recuva, try to identify the previous location of the deleted since it helps to reduce the scanning time for the deleted file. The software produces a list of all the deleted files from the recycle bin and also gives a recovery option for them.

On the other hand, if data the computer in question is a MacBook the best software for covering deleted files from the recycle bin is the Mac Trash Recovery software and scan through the recycle bin to identify the deleted files. After obtaining the list of the deleted files determine the ones that you want to restore. It is, however, important to note that recovery via the MacBook Trash Recovery software should happen within the shortest time possible. After deleting files from the recycle bin, the iOS system flags the space as free space to use again thus there is a chance that the recycle bin has been overwritten again with new data. Therefore, it recommended that the recovery process should be immediate to improve the chance of restoring the data (Kuhn, 2013).
