A review has been conducted by the company regarding various issues in the hotel, and several troubling issues were highlighted. From the review of the company, it was clear that the company is facing a managerial problem the hotel is understaffed as hotels like Travelodge and Premier Inns offer competition on this platform. Our hotel has since faced restrictions in growth attempts due to a shortage of our staff members. In the course of the review I also noticed that most of the bookings had been canceled on short notice, this trend has led to a decrease in the profits, a poor reputation of the company and loss in growth and sales in the hotel. It is also clear that the employees in the hotel have low morales and do not perform their duties with enthusiasm.

The employees have a problem with their work force planning thus leading to problems when it comes to jobs not specified in the plans. The workforce plan is also noneffective when it comes to execution and completion of tasks. The low morale is also exhibited in the decline of growth of the company. The hotel lacks a competitive workforce that will compete with other companies in the hotel industry, thats why we are losing most of our staff members to other companies. The recruitment and selection process in the company is also flawed. This has been exhibited in the poor and substandard services that the guests experience. It is also clear the employees are not competent enough to handle tasks in other departments when there is a need.

The review also revealed that the employees have no formal pay structure, the pay is done informally and the pay raise is conducted through informal arrangements. This practice has led to favoritism and low compensation of the employees. These raises are given to the employees to buy their loyalty or prevent them from leaving. These poor reward strategies make the employees view the company in a negative light thus, leading to thoughts and intentions of leaving the company to find better companies to work for. These challenges are as a result of poor rewards systems that do not address the needs of the staff in the company. The company also gives rewards to employees that have no relation to their jobs or the industry they work.

It is also clear that many employees are leaving the company for other better working conditions. The exit of employees is caused by poor salaries that do not reflect with the competition present in the industry. Poor salaries have led to a high turnover in the hotel, and it has been difficult to retain some of the best talents in the hotel. The review also noticed that most of the decisions in the hotel are made by the managing director Giuseppe Salieri. The employees feel left out in the decision-making process thus sometimes do not understand how the certain decision was made and what led to the making of the decisions. This has been brought about by poor communication channels and procedures in the hotel. About the problems discussed above, the human resource management wishes to discuss and highlight some of the major changes that will occur in the company. The employee participation, recommendation, and commitment will be highly appreciated.

The company has decided to review salaries and create a competitive pay structure that will be a focus on creating the value of the hotel and internal fairness for the employees (Dess, McNamara, and Eisner 2016). The salaries will be reviewed monthly and adjusted by the performance and the value brought to the company. All employees will be accorded benefits depending on their level of operation. However, the company believes in equal opportunities for better heath care. Thus all employees will receive heath insurance and the life insurance will be and added advantage to the managerial level. The company has decided to be giving employees annual bonuses in the profits realized by the company and holidays to spend time with their families. It is also clear that every employee has different needs and thus the pay structure created will be flexible enough to accommodate individual needs and comprehensive enough to support the employees fully.

The company will also create a competent reward system that will recognize and reward the efforts of the employees individually. There will be seasonal promotions which will be based on performance and the skills of an individual. The communication channels and procedures will be made more transparent to encourage a culture where the employees will have a platform to voice their opinions and suggestions in making decisions that will affect the company. This will help reduce the Them versus Us culture in the organization. These rewards systems are aimed at improving the self-esteem and morale of the employees in the organization (Lee, Raschke, and Louis 2016). A more open communication channel will help in discussing and identifying problems thus handling them before they become an issue. It will also ease the decision-making process that depended on the managing director's efforts and will.

The employees will be required to undergo regular training and development programs to improve their skills and develop their careers. All the training and development policies will be rewritten and distributed to all employees in the organization. This will help in the creation of awareness about the program and its importance in the welfare of the employee and the company. The information will be passe through all channels of communication present in the company to ensure all employees are aware of the program. The organization has decided to employs mentors and coaches in the organization who will help the employees in the training process. The main aim of the presence of the mentors and coaches is to support the employees in the quest to develop their careers. The coaches will offer professional advice and guide the employee's step by step in achieving their dreams.

Apart from the mentorship programs the company has decided to offer mandatory training and development seminars and courses for the employees. This decision was made to ensure that no staff member will miss out on the opportunity to develop and enhance their skills in the area of specialization (Buil, Martinez, and Matute, 2016). The training and development programs will regularly be held to ensure that the employees meet the standards and requirements of the competitive and ever changing industry of hospitality. After successful completion of the training and development programs, the employees will be promoted respectfully and have a salary increase depending on their qualifications and achievements demonstrated in the workplace.

The company will ensure that the resources needed for the training and development programs are available at the right time and that the resources are never scarce. These wills ensure that the programs are conducted smoothly and effectively to benefit the employees and the company. The decision to make the process mandatory is to eliminate favoritism and unfairness in the selection process. This will ensure all employees regardless of their level in the company have an equal chance with their management counterparts to achieve their goals and dreams in the company.

The company also seeks to reform the recruitment and selection process to ensure that the people who are hired by the company are competent and will help the company realize its goals and objectives. The company has opted to be listing all the necessary and critical criteria and relevant requirements that will be needed for the recruitment. The information will list the specific skills needed this will help reduce the number of candidates that will apply for the job, and that will appear for the interview thus saving resources for the organization.

The company will install a strict screening process by involving the help of competent managers from the company. The interview process will help the interviewers choose the candidates whose responses identify with the companies goals, objectives and values. Candidates who identify with the requirements will be an added advantage to the company and the existing employees. They will ease the workload on the existing employees and also the efficiency of work done. This process will also help the company reduced the employee turnover rate as it has been witnessed in the previous year. It is processes that will help companies avoid having disgruntled employees in their company.

The selection process will ensure that the candidates chose to possess the right qualifications and experience needed to handle the task at hand. The selection process in the company was flawed since the interviewers did not hire based on evidence produced, but intuition is hiring the right people will ensure the company gets employees who will demonstrate high productivity and quality of the services (Gollenia, 2016). The main goal of the hiring process should be for long-term investment for the company. The recruitment process that has been in the system did not hire people correctly. This made the company have a record of poor services and incompetent employees. To ease this pressure, the company should identify candidates that share in the companys vision to reduce the number of employee turnover.

The selection and recruitment process is a critical exercise for the company. The employee of a company reflects the image the company. Huntsman hotel plc is a victim of bad reputation accused by the poor services and products offered by the hotel. Incompetent employees cause a company to have a bad reputation. When the company recruits good employees, they experience high growth rates. It also increases the employees confidence in the company as they will realize the company makes important decisions. When the employees get a positive image about their company, they work to produce quality services and products to their customers thus improving the image of the company. The change process will use several steps; the first strategy we will employ to change our HR management practices is to include the employees in the management process. This helps the employees develop a commitment and enthusiasm that will assist in implementing the changes desired. Clear definition of roles, adopting a team model, acknowledging the diverse motivational needs and addressing resistance to change issue in the company will be used to engage employees. The second step is to open communication through conducting surveys before and after the change process, give clear and precise information about the objectives, goals, and timelines of the change process and ensure that the communication is effective. The final step is to employ a step by step approach to implement the change to make sure that the employees are comfortable and help with a smooth transition towards a new organization culture.

The change management process will help in efficiency and job satisfaction for the employees. The employees will also develop positive feelings and attitude towards the company thus increase their productivity. The change process the human resource will help in the teamwork approach thus develop a business that works together to achieve a common goal and objectives. The company will gain a good reputation since they will have competent employees who deliver quality regarding service and products.
