Introduction
A clinical information system is a computerized system which is designed for the collection, storage, manipulation, and availing clinical data, which is vital to the healthcare delivery process. It provides clinical information repository which stores clinical information such as the history of the illness of the patient and their interaction with caregivers. In the healthcare, industry success is measured through patient's outcomes (Gardner, 2016). The clinical systems are changing the way the health care operates and helping in the improvement of healthcare outcomes and efficiency of the services being delivered. The use of clinical operations in health sectors has varied advantages. Clinical systems can promote patient-centered healthcare, improvement in the quality of care given to the clients, and educating health care professionals and clients. The process of implementing clinical systems entails changes at various categories of healthcare, for instance, healthcare organization, healthcare providers, and the patients. The usage of clinical systems has great impacts on the roles of health practitioners. The main aim of this paper is to summarize the best evidence about the impact of clinical systems on the outcome and efficiencies within the context of nursing practice and healthcare delivery.
The clinical systems that are used in health cares include the management systems, communication systems, information systems, and support systems for making decisions which are computerized. These clinical systems are essential since they enhance the outcome of the healthcare workers such as professional satisfaction and nursing outcomes which are sensitive such as safety of the patient, quality of life-related to care, patient experience, empowerment and functional status (Gottlieb et al., 2015). The use of clinical systems has the potential of promoting patient-centered healthcare at a lower cost, improvement of the quality of care and sharing of information, educating health professionals and patients, encouragement of new forms of relationships between patients and their providers also reduction in the time one takes to travel.
Various reviews have been conducted on the impact of the clinical system on the outcomes and efficiencies within the context of the nursing majority of which focus on the physicians. Cochrane review assessed the effect of the different clinical operations on the nurse practice and healthcare outcomes. Daly and collaborators posit that in the computerized level, a little more nursing diagnosis had been carried out.
The use of clinical systems enhances the efficiency in the workplace of the nurses. The effectiveness of the healthcare delivered can be done through a reduction in the variation of practices and procedures in patient care (Howell et al., 2015). Through the reduction in the variation, health workers can ensure that most optimal methods are used creating the best chance for getting outcomes that are positive while the cost of the patients and the organization are lowered.
The use of clinical systems is transforming the way nursing is conceptualized and delivered. Before the introduction of the clinical system, the nurses used to rely on their senses to diagnose patients through the introduction of technology, this change. For example, the issue of pulse oxymetry, the nurses use to depend on subtle changes in the skin color and status of the mind in detecting the changes in the saturation of oxygen. Currently, pulse oxymetry allows nurses to identify a reduction in oxygenation before the appearance of clinical symptoms hence more promptly diagnose and treat the underlying causes.
The use of clinical systems in delivering healthcare to the patients offers means for the prevention of errors and events that are adverse such as delayed treatment, errors in medication, miscommunications, and complications of immobility (Vimalananda et al., 2015). It also allows the healthcare and other departments to buy and employ those applications, functions, and technology that ate relevant to the institutions
Whenever healthcare providers are provided with accurate information that is complete, patients will be provided with better medical care. The use of clinical systems can improve the ability to diagnose diseases and prevent errors in the delivery of their services, such as medical errors and improves the outcomes of the patients. The data collected by the primary caregiver can record the information in the clinical system, which will inform the clinician in the department of emergency about the life of the patients and threatening allergy.
Coordination of patient care across healthcare is essential to provide care that is safer, effective, and timely. An increase in the level of connectivity between clinical systems is the best way of increasing coordination (English et al., 2016). Real-time communications need seamless integration among systems for ensuring that clinicians have the proper information at the required time without delays. Health cares that have their attention in the usage of clinical systems enhances healthcare delivery and creation of operating efficiencies, creating room for integrated, secure and consistent workflows also a reduction in the inefficiencies and mistakes in medications.

In conclusion, clinical information systems and clinical decisions that are computerized have been of great importance to the service delivery in various healthcare in the United States of America. Through the use of medical knowledge that is better and clinical decisions that are computerized, there are improvements in the quality and safety of care given to patients at healthcare. The clinical systems are beneficial in the healthcare delivery services because through these systems there is easy access to data of patients, the information in the clinical systems are well structured and organized which makes it easier to search for the required data. Additionally, through the use of clinical methods in healthcare, there is improved drug prescription and safety of patients, this reduces adverse drug interaction and utilizes pharmaceuticals. These clinical systems are faced with various challenges. They include the high initial cost of purchasing them, privacy and security of the data, resistance from clinicians, and integration of legacy systems.
