Developing a good data choice is one of the important factors to consider when doing your research project. The data option defines the scope within which researcher will collect his or her information. Data choice ensures the researcher does not have much irrelevant information. In my final project, I found it prudent to use the first data set. Being a new mother, I have no idea on who what is required of me to raise the child. I, therefore, have no a particular area to focus my research on but I have much interest in doing a topic about newborn child. There the first data set choice is motivated by my interest in the new mother subject.

The scenario for the project defines parties involved in the data set. The data set aim to review the relationship between the newborn babies and changes in temperatures. The objective of the study, therefore, is to answer whether changes in temperature have an effect on the development of the infants. Will the temperature change affect the health of newborn babies? How will it affect the time the child is supposed to start crawling. Dataset will there have the dependent variable and independent variable where the change in temperatures is the independent variable, and the development of newborn is the independent variable.

Section 8.01 of the ethical code of conduct state that any researcher should ensure that he or she follow the America psychological association moral principles of psychologists and code of conduct. The APA guideline, therefore, ensures that the information provided by the researcher are accurate and does not violate the ethical standard. This work, therefore, has taken all the guiding stand of APA. The research is, therefore, interested in getting information based on facts regarding the age of the child and their response to temperature change. The researcher does not intend to offer financial incentives to the participant of the study to induce them to provide information. The researcher expects to get the information from the parents who are willing to give factual information voluntarily.

If the researcher is not careful when collecting, the information there is a possibility of the respondent providing misleading information. It is, therefore, the responsible to make sure that the scenario of the study is well presented and reported. The information provided should not be too ambiguous, but the researcher should have specific information, which will be understood by every respondent. Also, to ensure that the information is accurate it is critical to use simple, avoid the use of vocabularies. For example, it can be more easy to say that infants start crawling fast if the weather conditions are warmer while when temperature are low, babies development will take long. When the researcher generalizes the information, then he or she is most likely to have misleading information. In our example above the information to be provided may not be accurate the perception is that the crawling of a child is based on the temperature changes which is not true as other factors affect the time within which the baby start to crawl. The researcher should ensure that the objectives of the study are specific.

The researcher will also ensure that the final project will not be fabricated using any manner. The researcher will, therefore, be very careful to ensure that the data collected will be reported without interfering the information given by the respondents. To ensure the data analysis, the researcher will use the software package for statistical social science to analyze the data. The data will then be presented using statistical techniques including correlation, regression, tables and graphs. The scientific methods help to give a clear picture of the scenario. To ensure that data analysis does not violate APA standard the researcher should make sure that all the work quoted by other author is well referenced, hence making sure that there is no violation of other writers work through plagiarism.

Conclusion

The responsibility of the researcher is to ensure that the data chosen will give accurate information and it is the best for the topic under review. The researcher should develop a researchable research question, which is not very ambiguous. Finally, in the final project, the researcher will ensure that all ethical standards are followed to ensure quality information is obtained.
