My name is Pale and I am a Canadian who completed community medicine in a medical school in India in 2015. My studies involve learning various things including health promotion, epidemiology, and health management. During this course, I was given a family to follow for three years as I take their detailed personal history. The course involved a connection between a physician and community at a level different from seeing patients at their clinic. The course enabled me to see a community from a very different point of view, which is required for a healthier population. Furthermore, MPH has a wide area of research on a large scale which interest me even more because my interest in doing research for the community. During my time in medicine school, I realized that for us to make some changes in the health system of Canada, our focus should be the prevention of the health related illness instead of treating them. While I was in a medical school in India, I got knowledge concerning issues affecting the health care today. Additionally, in future, I want to pursue a residency in medicine. Thus, my urge of learning about prevalent diseases in the population and health system in Canada.

Getting the chance of studying MPH program at your university will help me develop my understanding and train me to improve health at the population level. Additionally, it will be a bridge for the population as a whole and me. The community is vital for every physician because they need our services. MPH is involved in taking their personal and family history of the disease and educating them on different diseases, prevention, and other aspects that could promote their overall well-being. It also creates awareness in public while they are home at their very comfort zone unlike visiting a doctor at the clinic where a person is mostly afraid to hear their diagnoses.

Through the acquisition of a Masters of Public Health, I wish to be a health planner who plays the role of creating healthy and supportive communities to help in solving the health problems. I would also like to collaborate with international health professionals who have the vision of maintaining health and preventing illness. Furthermore, through this program, I will develop research and leadership skills to help me advocate for change. Studying MPH program at your university will also help me gain more knowledge in my career field. Issues regarding public health do change with time. Therefore, to keep me with the knowledge, studying MPH program will play a significant role.

MPH is a good program for me as it focuses on clinical trials networks, multilateral healthcare programs, and large data research studies. This program is helpful as it is my passion to help communities improve their health. Therefore, getting the program will give me the chance of developing y services at an individual level to the community level. I have engaged in different activities including working as a volunteer in Blood Donation Camp at my hospital and in Pulse polio drive which is the campaign started in India to eradicate Poliovirus by giving oral Polio vaccine to every child under age of 5. I have also served the community at Community health centers in the rural area. The initiative creates awareness about the diseases and ways to prevent them. Providing education on various topics, which may be considered general knowledge for the normal population in urban areas but rural areas, it is something new. The education I have offered includes new family planning methods, benefits of breastfeeding, and weaning in babies. Therefore, serving the community was an eye opener for me as I discovered there is a lot to give to community apart from what I have learned. Serving the community entails more things apart from treating their condition and sending them home.

Along with the various duties, I have encountered throughout my career, I have attended various seminars, which has given me the opportunity of meeting different health professionals and leaders. All the activities that I have engaged confirm my growing interest in the quality of care and preventive medicine. These are my main interest because they are important for the health system of our nation. Efficiency and accessibility in the health care system must be achieved without sacrificing the quality of health care services. My interest in public health has grown because most of the members of my community do not get quality health services. Serving a large community and engaging in a challenging and dynamic field like this is difficult but I welcome the challenge.

I have an interest in studying Master of public health in your institution because I believe it has the capacity of giving me an unparalleled education in the field of public health and management.
