Ever since I was able to understand the value of university education, all I ever wanted was to study in one of the United States universities. Fortunately, I landed on a scholarship opportunity that gave me the opportunity to pursue my higher education at Auburn University. Over the past few years, I have spent at the University, I have come to appreciate what quality education means. We have had interesting discussions on a wide array of topics ranging from international relations to the global issues such as terrorism, use of drones and modern colonialism. I have taken part in several community outreach activities, visited the homeless and spent quality, enriching time with them. I realize however that with each passing day I am not content with my experience at this place. I wanted to be part of a university community rich in diversity and background. This is not to say that Auburn University is not rich in cultural diversity; just that I find the university has a huge population of students from my native country China. I want to have American classmates, to interact with them so that I can have a global perspective of affairs. Being in this school is somewhat like being in one of the universities in my native country as most of the students I interact with are from my country. That is why I am seeking to transfer to a university that will satisfy my dream of being a global citizen. That is why I am applying to join Tuskegee University.

I am drawn to Tuskegee University because of its rich cultural blend and deep history. I am looking for a place rich in diversity as that is what I have been seeking all along. Aside from academic achievements, I also want to complete my university course rich, refined and endowed with a deep gratitude of other cultures and beliefs around the world. I believe I will also be of help to other students of similar mindsets like mine by sharing my Chinese culture with them. This is truly what I call success; being able to appreciate and understand different cultures and ethnicities, being a global citizen.

Tuskegee University is rich in all that I am looking for. Its diversity can be seen in the various departments it accommodates. Apart from having a rich cultural and ethnic diversity, the University has become a master at creating a niche for every student where they can fully develop their potential. This does not, however, imply that student interactions will only be limited to those within the same department; instead, the wide web of interactions between different departments and faculties, spanning from engineering to arts, simulates an environment closely similar to interactions in the real world.

Tuskegee University is just the right place for me, the place to help me achieve my dreams of academic excellence and a global citizen. With the great learning and sporting facilities at the University, I will be able to enjoy an all rounded experience, from academics to athletics. It will give me the opportunity to pursue my interests in athletics and engage in community service, practices that I had been doing all along, habits that help me feel fulfilled. Tuskegee University is the place of my dreams, the place I have always wanted to be.
