There are various ways of mitigating the factors for the Client Service for NetWare and one of them is through the use of Windows XP because such a window is not vulnerable to the attacked of the CSNW (Saini, Mishra & Sharma, 2013). Windows XP home Edition lacks the vulnerable component and is more safe from attacks. The other way of mitigating the effect is that vulnerabilities only comes to the customers that have installed the CSNW on their operating systems. In this manner, it is advisable to discourage manual installation of the CSNW to avoid being vulnerable to attacks. Moreover, the CSNW requires that for an attack to be done, the CSNW must be manually installed onto the Windows Server 2003 Service Pack and the attacker must also have the valid logon credentials. It is therefore factual that anonymous users cannot attack the software and cannot also be attacked remotely. The users need to maintain the security of the credentials of the system to reduce cases of attacks on the system. Finally, the system can be protected through maintaining the firewall best practices and ensure use the standard default firewall configurations to protect the systems from outside the perimeter of the enterprise (Brewer, Garg, Nanduri & Kakumani, 2015). This makes it hard to attack the system and easy to determine the causes of the attacks. Best practices recommend that systems which are connected to the internet have limited number of ports that are exposed.

There are update services available and this is the use of Microsoft Software Update Services (SUS) which gives the administrators the opportunity to deploy the latest critical updates and security updates to Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 in reliable and quick manner (Balasubramanian, 2016). This also gives the opportunity to desktop the systems that run on Windows 2000 professional and Windows XP Professional. Additionally, Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) allows the administrators to deploy the latest updates and the security updates for the Windows 2000 operating systems reliably and quickly at a later date. It is also a matter of great importance to understand Systems Management Server (SMS) and its role on the improvement of security of the system. The SMS helps in delivering a solution that is highly configured system to assist in managing updates (Saib, 2013). Using SMS helps administrators to identify the systems that are Windows-based which require security updates and can perform controlled deployment of the updates throughout the business setting without causing disruption to the end users.

There are various ways that an attacker can exploit the vulnerability of the system and understanding the same helps in the analyzing how to improve the security of the system. An attacker can exploit the vulnerability through the creation of a series of network messages that are specially crafted then sending them to an affected system (Takahashi et al., 2012). The messages could than make the system to execute the code. In this regard, the systems that are ate the greatest risk are all the systems that have the Client Service for NetWare, that is also the Gateway for the Service NetWare, and is installed on the version of the affected operating system. This form of vulnerability is limited to the customers that have manually installed the component. Finally, it is worth appreciating that the vulnerability of the system can be exploited over the internet and this preventing the internet attacks call for practicing the best practices and default firewall configurations (Balasubramanian, 2016). Microsoft provides information on the processes to be followed in when preventing the internet attacks.

The SMS employs the use of the Microsoft Office Detection Tool, Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer and the Enterprise Updating Scanning Tool to allow for the update and detection of the security bulletin (Brewer, Garg, Nanduri & Kakumani, 2015). There are some software updates that cannot be detected using such tools Administrators can then use the capabilities of the inventory of the SMS in such cases to target updates to specific systems. It is needful for organizations to understand the effects of the benefits of using the NetWare and understand ways that they can prevent the defects of the same. The effects of security attacks are evident in the business processes of Advanced Research and the consequences of the same in the business platforms (Saib, 2013). This proves the need for the organization to employ the use of CSNW to help in eliminating challenges resulting from the same. Updates greatly help in removing the vulnerabilities through the modification of the way the components that are affected validates the length of a message prior to the allocation of the buffer.

Despite the vulnerabilities of the NetWare, there are various benefits of the same which the society needs to acknowledge and improve the working of the software to improve the working of the same. One of the benefits of NetWare is that it increases productivity as it provides various ways of communicating with other users in addition to the sharing of resources (Takahashi et al., 2012). There is need to build a reliable network system because such are vital components in the modern society, it also helps businesses to grow. The second benefit is that it has better security features, this is because of the availability of a workstation that has encrypted password where the administrator cannot have access to the password. This means that the user only has the permission to remove the permission of the user on the occasions when the users have their own passwords (Mwende & Bucur, 2013).

Additionally, the messaging services of the software is to be commendable because of the ease with which it offers data transmission between several fronted applications. The application also facilitates the sharing of data over the Novel network and LANs (Saini, Mishra & Sharma, 2013). Moreover, there is the advantage of the flexibility as it allows the user to share multip...
