Numerous quantitative and qualitative studies have explored the challenges and level of preparedness of Ghana universities concerning fake entry qualifications and corruption. This research is therefore aimed at tracking some of the international, national and local policies initiatives to tame the vice.
Research Interest/Background
The study is directed at investigating the effects of fake entry qualifications, manipulation of grades, corruption by the faculty, administrators, and students, and the ways in which they affected the educational experiences offered by Ghana universities.
Research Problem/gap
The study is set to the significant effect of corruption in Ghana's education sector.
Research objectives and questions
The main purpose of the study is to examine the effect of grade manipulation and cheating on students, the society and to the education sector. Various case studies will offer a rich source of data to deconstruct. The research should be able to answer the following;
Whats the governments contribution towards a conceptualized education policy?
Are there ideological lags in philosophy in change implementation?
Proposed theory
The research aims at highlighting the governments stand at expulsing holders of fake grades and faculty corruption from the education sector and holding a few sanctions. It is against this background that the current advocacy undertaken by Ghanas education officials will constantly fight trivialization of the vices in the sector.
Method
For the purpose of this study, a qualitative research method of investigation is chosen. (MoE ,2003) points out that research which Evaluates the Information Security challenges and preparedness of Universities in Ghana" has to be undertaken more by qualitative/school-based studies compared to a traditional quantitative comparison and surveys.
